Artist Mary Winters-Meyer Receives Award

Capricon, Chicagolandís annual winter extravaganza of Science Fiction and Fantasy, returned for it's 34th year in February 2014. The longest running four day convention in the Chicago area, Capricon brings together fans and pros to participate in programs, listen to cool music, hang out with friends, and generally have a good time. Capricon's Art Show displays the works of professionals as well as fans, and this year displayed over 1000 pieces of 2D and 3D art. Attendees to the the convention visit the show to purchase art, and are encouraged to vote for their favorites in several categories.

This year, Mary Winters-Meyer showed her art at Capricon 34, her second showing in the Chicagoland area. In addition to selling prints of her work, Mary's art was voted "Best Non-professional Artwork" at Capricon 34.
